On Thursday 19th of April ConocoPhillips gave us a presentation at the Geoscience Department, the topics where three technical issues they had recently been working on;
1. The well planning process
The first topic was the well planning process where they discussed in detail how they work in integrated teams, then they continued by showing us some examples from the optimization work and gave us a talk about new technologies they are applying and discussed the future activity levels.
2. Seismic Reservoir Characterization at the Ekofisk field
In the second topic they gave a talk about the benefits and challenges of the use of 4D seismics and presented the Lofs installation (Life of
Field Seismic).
3. Ekofisk Seismic History Matching
In the final topic they showed us how they are using seismic (4D data) to improve their history match and then continued by discussing workflows, techniques and showed us some examples.
After the presentation we had possibilities to ask them questions while enjoing pizzas and refreshments kindly sponsered by ConocoPhillips.
