What are the benefits of becoming a fellow student member?
As a member, you’ll be able to participate in events hosted by the SPE Oslo Student Chapter, such as technical presentations, industry excursions and parties. You may also attend Society-sponsored meetings, conferences, and sections meetings at a reduced price or free of charge. Student Members receive a subscription to JPT Online, a monthly electronic technical journal. Offering free, round-the-clock access to SPE’s full technical papers, JPT Online is a reliable, up-to-date and consistent source of industry-related information for E&P students and young professionals. In addition, you’ll receive substantial discounts on textbooks, reference books, and other Society publications. Everything available at spe.org.
Last but not least: Student membership provides students the opportunity to meet practicing professionals and active members in the petroleum industry while still attending school; possibly the best networking opportunity you’ll ever have!
How do i apply for membership and how much does it cost?
To become a member of the SPE Oslo Student Chapter, you have to meet the requirements for student membership:
- Must be enrolled in a course of study leading to an undergraduate or graduate degree in petroleum engineering or related field
- Must be carrying at least 30% of a normal full-time academic loa
The student membership dues is $ 14.00 per year. However you can apply for financial assistance to pay your SPE student membership dues. In other words it's free.
