SPE Oslo Section made a new donation of learning materials to the department libarary. The fullfilling of a common goal made during the official book donation last year; soon students and staff will have full year access to the huge OnePetro database of scientific articles. The 15000 NOK fee for the database access was fully donated by Oslo Section alone. The whole donation included 48 books, numerous of e-learning discs and the much appreciated OnePetro access. Making the total size of this years donation to around 30 000 NOK. Present at the donation was institute sponsor prof. Henning Dypvik, prof. Asbjørn Breivik, members of student chapter board, President of Oslo Chapter Hugo Harstad, Oslo Chapter university contact Marius Lunde and Oslo Section Secretary Jørnar Hubred.
The department staff expressed gratitude and commitment for the exellent learning materials and expansion of the knowledge database by adding OnePetro. We look forward to the continuing cooperation between the the SPE chapter(s) in Oslo and department of Geosciences. But we would also like to expand our commitment to other departments at MatNat Faculty. Reaching out to the students from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology and Mathmatics, is a important goal for us this year.
